Why the Golden Ratio Cannot Be the Answer for Rhinoplasty

The golden ratio is mostly a concept
defined on a flat plane

But the nose is the most three-dimensional structure of the face.

Reason

  • Skin thickness
  • Cartilage elasticity
  • Breathing structure
  • Movement with facial expressions

These factors cannot be explained by a single ratio formula.
That is why a nose that matches the golden ratio exactly does not necessarily become the most natural or the most stable over time.

The problem is not the ratio, but the way people try to "apply" that ratio to a face.
