Ingrowing eyelashes: Fixing the strength of the eye muscles for a refreshing eye shape

SH Plastic Surgery

The eyes have a significant impact on determining a first impression.

Especially these days, as wearing masks has become part of daily life,

we tend to imagine other people's impressions solely by looking at their eyes,

so the impact of the eyes on one's impression has inevitably become even greater.

Since an impression can change completely depending on what kind of eye shape you have,

if you are usually dissatisfied with your eye shape or have a complex about it,

it can be improved through various eye plastic surgeries.

In addition, not only for purely aesthetic purposes, but issues such as inward-growing eyelashes

and ptosis can also be improved through eye surgery.

Representative eye surgeries include double eyelid surgery, blepharoptosis correction (eye shape correction), and canthoplasty (eye-widening surgery).

First, the process of creating double eyelids is

a method that makes the eyelid fold once when opening the eyes,

and it provides high satisfaction as it makes the eyes look bigger and relieves a stuffy, heavy impression.

Creating double eyelids is broadly divided into the incisional method, non-incisional method, and partial incision method.

The incisional method designs the height that suits the individual, incises the skin,

removes unnecessary muscle, skin, and fat, and meticulously sutures the skin

to prevent scarring; it creates crisp, distinct double eyelids,

and by removing skin muscle and fat, it is effective in correcting ptosis.

The non-incisional method designs a double eyelid line of appropriate height, extends the incision window if necessary

to remove fat, and stitches the skin and tarsal plate together using specialized suture threads

to induce adhesion, transforming the eyes into a clear and harmonious shape.

The partial incision method combines the advantages of the incisional and non-incisional methods;

the basic process is similar to the non-incisional method, but a skin incision of about 3 mm is made.

Through this small incision, fat is removed, but double eyelids are created without excising skin.

Although there are various ways to create the line,

you must find the method that suits your eyes through a thorough consultation.

Second, eye shape correction (ptosis correction) corrects ptosis,

making the pupils clearly visible and strengthening the power to open the eyes.

Generally, when opening the eyes,

When about 80 to 90% of the pupil is exposed, the eyes appear large and clear.

However, if the muscles that open the eyes are weak, the upper part of the pupil is heavily covered, which can create a sleepy impression.

In this case, the eye-opening power is strengthened by adjusting the tension of the levator palpebrae superioris muscle and Müller's muscle.

There are three types of ptosis correction.

When the eyes look sleepy or do not open well:

'Incisional Ptosis Correction'

- A ptosis correction that adjusts the tension of both muscles,

resulting in a more refined and complete outcome.

Using threads without skin incisions:

'Non-incisional Ptosis Correction'

- A ptosis correction that adjusts the eye-opening muscles,

which reduces swelling and scarring, allows for a short recovery period,

and enables a natural improvement in the eye shape.

Making the eyes open wider

without creating a double eyelid:

'Monolid Ptosis Correction'

- Passing threads through the conjunctiva rather than the skin,

it is a non-incisional procedure

that makes the eyes open wider.

The final eye plastic surgery method, eye-widening canthoplasty, involves epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, upper canthoplasty, and lower canthoplasty,

expanding the length and height of the eyes to create a refreshed, wide-eyed look.

With the eye surgery methods we have looked at so far,

you can overcome your insecurities

by creating pretty and distinct eyes.

And as mentioned briefly earlier,

in addition to cosmetic purposes, issues such as trichiasis (inward-growing eyelashes)

and blepharoptosis (ptosis) can also be improved.

Blepharoptosis refers to a condition where the upper or lower eyelid

droops, usually occurring when the upper eyelid

covers the upper part of the pupil by about 1 to 2 mm.

It is considered normal, but if more of the pupil

is covered than this, ptosis

can be suspected.

Ptosis is often accompanied by entropion,

which typically causes trichiasis (ingrown eyelashes),

and is a common condition among the elderly whose skin sags with age.

Trichiasis is a condition where eyelashes that should grow downward

point upward and irritate the cornea of the eye;

it should be suspected if you rub or blink your eyes frequently, or

experience pain as if a foreign object has entered the eye.

This trichiasis can be congenital,

caused by an abnormality present from birth in the muscles pulling the lower eyelid,

or acquired, due to the weakening of the lower eyelid muscles and the muscles supporting the eyelid,

or it can be caused by inflammation.

Whether for cosmetic or therapeutic purposes,

if you are considering eye surgery,

it is above all most important

to proceed after an accurate diagnosis

of the procedure that suits you best.

you can trust and rely on it for safe and accurate procedures.

With the 'Vesalius', a resonance generator that operates at a low temperature

and a special wavelength, causes almost no tissue damage

and causes less swelling, enabling a quick return to daily life,

which can reduce pain and bleeding

With diverse medical equipment such as

the 'Clavion Full HD Endoscope',

safe and accurate procedures are possible.

The shape of your eyes can significantly change your overall impression.

Upturned eyes give a sharp and keen impression,

while downturned eyes give a gentle and mild impression.
