[Korea Financial Times Reporter Ho-sung Jang] On January 9, HDC Shilla Duty Free and GIU officially signed a business agreement focused on a marketing partnership.
Under the strategic marketing design of GIU, known as a Japanese marketing agency, this agreement took place with the attendance of officials from HDC Shilla Duty Free and hospitals including Luho Plastic Surgery, SH Plastic Surgery, Elleve Clinic, and Blanche Dental Clinic.
Presenting a new business model that combines duty-free shopping with medical services, this agreement is significant in that it signals the beginning of establishing a platform that connects shopping and medical tourism. Under the agreement, HDC Shilla Duty Free and the partner hospitals are expected to simultaneously attract foreign patients and improve tourist satisfaction.
In particular, it is drawing attention for its potential to further enhance competitiveness in the global market by sharing customers mutually through the agreement and providing integrated services combining shopping and medical tourism.
Eun-seop Kim, Marketing Team Leader at HDC Shilla Duty Free, stated, "Through this agreement, we will strive to provide advanced medical services to Asian customers and deliver the joy of one-stop shopping at Yongsan HDC Shilla Duty Free, which is emerging as the center of Seoul and a mecca of fashion," adding, "We also plan to maintain duty-free business operations by forming a task force (TF) to prepare for this year's patent renewal evaluation."
